PARTICIPATION IN THE SURVEY

Companies that operate in the Azerbaijan market (see the section “PARTICIPATING COMPANIES”) can participate in the National Salary Survey. The Survey covers information on national employees in Azerbaijan. Expatriate packages are not covered by the Survey.

 

METHOD OF SURVEY

All information was gathered through online questionnaire and all salaries were collected in AZN (Azerbaijan Manat). The salaries have been converted from US Dollars to Azerbaijan Manats at the rate of 1.70 AZN = 1US$.

 

DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS

Lower Decile (10th Percentile) – The data point that is higher than 10% of all other data in the category when ranked from low to high.

Lower Quartile (25th Percentile) – The data point that is higher than 25% of all other data in the category when ranked from low to high. Also known as the first quartile.

Median (50th Percentile) – The data point that is higher than 50% of all other data in the category when ranked from low to high.

Upper Quartile (75th Percentile) – The data point that is higher than 75% of all other data in the category when ranked from low to high. Also known as the third quartile.

Upper Decile (90th Percentile) – The data point that is higher than 90% of all other data in the category when ranked from low to high.

Average – The sum of all data reported (Average Monthly Base Pay) divided by the number of observations in the category. Also known as mean.

Average Revenue – The monthly averaged sum total of all salary items (Average Monthly Base Pay and if applicable Annual Bonus, Average Additional, Average Sales Bonus, and Average Offshore Allowance) of the observed positions in the category. Also known as Average Remunaration.

No of Employee (Number of Employee) – The total number of incumbents (position and employee) that participate in the category.

No of Employer (Number of Employers) – The total number of organizations (with at least 1 incumbent) in the category.

Mode: The mode is obtained by grouping data against salary bandings. The band with the highest number of corresponding employees is the mode. In other words more employees fall in this salary banding than in the others. Modal Distributions were collected against Job Families.

Reports on general Statistics and Benefits are provided via separate sub menus under the National Salary Survey tab. Results for salaries provided via two different reports (under relevant sub-menus) available online;

 

DATA CONFIDENTIALITY STANDARD

We ensure confidentiality of all data collected. Your organization name only appears in the participant list. We use a number of data masking rules in our reports to guarantee client data confidentiality and to ensure the reported market data is as meaningful and useful as possible. A minimum number of incumbents and organizations are required to present salary statistics. If the minimums are not met, market data is suppressed (“masked”) to protect confidentiality.
